Title: The relationship between water exchange and coordination chemistry in paramagnetic complexes for MRI applications

Biosketch

Mauro Botta received the “Laurea” cum laude in Chemistry at the University of Turin. In 1998, he moved to the University of Eastern Piedmont where he is currently full professor of Inorganic Chemistry. His scientific interests have focused on the use of NMR techniques for the characterization of inorganic systems, starting from organometallic clusters and then moving on the complexes of the f-elements. For several years, he has been involved in the study of paramagnetic metal chelates and nanosystems as diagnostic probes for MR imaging. Recipient of the "Raffaello Nasini" gold medal award for Inorganic Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society and of the "GIDRM gold medal for magnetic resonance". He has published ca. 300 papers and several book chapters on these topics.
