Laurence Grimaud, Research Director (DR1, since 2023) at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), is the deputy director of the department of chemistry at the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) (UMR 7203, 75005 Paris).

Her research interests are mainly focused on developing molecular electrochemistry, transition metal catalysis, experimental mechanistic studies and more recently the implementation of artificiel intelligence in organic chemistry. Prior to becoming Research Director, she was research scientist (CR) at CNRS since 2010 and she has an Associate Professor position at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées from 1999 to 2010. In collaboration with the Pr L. El Kaïm, she mainly developed there new metal-catalyzed reactions and original isocyanide-based multicomponent reactions.  She got a PhD in organic chemistry in 1999 at the Ecole Polytechnique, in the field of total synthesis (Dolabélide C) under the supervision of Dr J. Prunet. She has published over 140 publications including 5 reviews and 1 patent. She also received in 2016 the "SCF distinguish junior member".
